You may only enter the Netherlands if you're fully vaccinated or if the purpose of your trip falls under one of the other exemption categories. For example, if you have the Dutch nationality.
Negative test result
You can only travel to the Netherlands if you have a negative test result (a NAAT(PCR) test max 48h before departure, or a rapid antigen test max 24h before departure). Where can I get a test result?
Show your completed health declaration when boarding.
Urgent advice to everyone
For travellers with a vaccination certificate or a recovery certificate, the urgent advice is to take a self-test before meeting others or going back to work/school.
Travellers without vaccination or recovery certificate are strongly advised to test themselves on days 2 and 5 after arrival. This can be done with a self-test or at the GGD. If you have any symptoms or if a self-test is positive, always have it tested at the GGD.
Adhere to the corona measures
After arriving in the Netherlands, you adhere to the corona measures.
Frequently asked questions
Get tested at an official testing centre (such as a laboratory, doctor or health service) at your destination. Make sure the test meets the Dutch requirements.
Stay in your accommodation and avoid contact with others. You should also contact your local municipal health service (GGD) in the Netherlands and follow the measures and advice of the health authorities at your destination. The other members of your household and/or your travelling companions may also need to go into quarantine. If you no longer have any symptoms and you test negative for coronavirus you may return to the Netherlands.
Travelling abroad remains a risk. When you become infected abroad, you can infect others at home. This can also be another variant of the coronavirus. That is why it is mandatory to self-quarantine if you are returning to the Netherlands from a destination with a very high corona risk. After becoming infected with coronavirus it can take 10 days for symptoms to show. So it’s important to stay at home for 10 days. There are also people who have coronavirus without showing any symptoms at all. They could infect others if they don’t stay at home.
When you travel to a destination with a very high corona risk, you fill in the quarantine declaration before you travel back to the Netherlands. Even if you are covered by the exceptions, you fill in the quarantine declaration.
